As a nation the British can lay claim to the invention of all manner of sports: football, rugby, cricket - the “mainstream” list of sports goes on and on! But lesser known activities can also be found (conkers, welly-throwing, bog-snorkelling, ….) as well as the fore-runner to the modern Olympic Games (held in Much Wenlock in the 1850s). The Racketeer has a multitude of items that cross all of these sports and activities: from athletics biographies (Bannister and Black), to sporting yearbooks (including the German forerunner to the Panini Sticker album from the 1936 Winter Games), to a range of titles relating to the noble art of boxing!
