Published by Lawrence & Bullen Ltd in 1897 and 1898; red hardback with gold writing; edited by the Earl of Suffolk & Berkshire, Hedley Peek and FG Aflalo; 632 and 654 pages respectively; externally some wear to the corners and spine, but generally in good condition; inside there are black and white pictures throughout, as well as a number of full-page plates; a focus on country pursuits - but also includes almost every sport you could imagine. Where else would you see "Aardvark" and "Amateur" on the same page? A fascinating view of sport at the end of the Victorian Age
